The Carts Bog Inn at Langley is a traditional country pub located in The North Pennines, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The Carts Bog is renowned throughout the region for its fine food, exceptional range of ales and stunning panoramic views. This country pub attracts a variety of visitors to unwind in its relaxed atmosphere and spectacular rural location. High beamed ceilings and a traditional stone fireplace create the ideal location to enjoy the fine food and exceptional range of ales on offer.
The Carts Bog Inn dates back to 1775 and was built as a coaching inn with what is now the restaurant originally being the cow byre.
The name Carts Bog is believed to have come about after carts carrying minerals from the Alston Lead and Silver mines would get stuck in local bogs.
